The National Glass Association (NGA) has announced the appointment of Lakisha Ann Woods as its new President and CEO, effective July 14, 2025.
Ms. Woods will succeed Nicole Harris, a 35-year veteran of the organization, upon her retirement.
Ms. Woods brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success in association leadership. Most recently, she served as the EVP/Chief Executive Officer of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), where she spearheaded significant growth, boosting revenue by an impressive 40% and driving membership to a historic high, exceeding 100,000 members.
Prior to her tenure at the AIA, Ms. Woods held the position of President & CEO of the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS), demonstrating her deep understanding of the building and construction industries. Her experience also includes serving as the Sr. VP & Chief Marketing Officer at the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
Rick Locke, CEO of Montana Sash & Door and the 2024-2025 NGA Board of Directors Chair, expressed his enthusiasm for Ms. Woods’ appointment, stating, “We are delighted that Lakisha will lead NGA following Nicole’s well-deserved retirement, announced late last year. Beyond her executive roles, Ms. Woods is actively involved in industry leadership. She is a Past Chair of the Board for the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and previously served as the Vice Chair of the US Green Building Council Board of Directors.

Ms. Woods’ extensive experience and leadership skills are expected to be invaluable in further enhancing the association’s value to its members and strengthening its position as a leading voice for the glass and glazing industry.
