From 9 to 13 March 2026, Cannes, France, hosted the annual MIPIM (Marché International des Professionnels de l’Immobilier), one of the world’s largest real estate and urban development events. Held at the iconic Palais des Festivals, the festival brought together over 20,000 professionals from 90+ countries, including developers, investors, architects, and city leaders, to explore trends, investment opportunities, and urban innovation.

MIPIM 2026 focused on sustainability, resilience, and innovation as core drivers of future cities. Panels and workshops addressed climate-adapted development, digital transformation, and the evolving role of architecture in creating inclusive, livable urban environments. The event also included networking sessions, exhibitions, and MIPIM Awards celebrating the most innovative and impactful real estate projects worldwide.

Among the participating countries, Albania made a strong impression with its national pavilion, themed “Soundscapes of Albania.” The presentation highlighted 83 strategic projects across urban development, tourism, and infrastructure, showcasing Albania’s potential as an investment destination.

A key contributor was Atelier 4, the Tirana-based architecture and urban design studio. Atelier 4 presented projects that merge cultural identity with contemporary design, demonstrating the crucial role of local architects in shaping Albania’s urban future. Their participation emphasized international collaboration and positioned Albania on the global urban development stage.

MIPIM remains a premier platform for connecting capital, ideas, and expertise, enabling countries, developers, and architects to exchange insights and form partnerships. The 2026 edition reinforced the importance of sustainable development, technological innovation, and global collaboration in shaping the cities of tomorrow.
