The Metal Cladding & Roofing Manufacturers Association (MCRMA) has officially announced the winners of its 2025 awards, celebrating individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment, expertise and leadership within the metal facades and roofing supply chain.

Revealed during the association’s two-day Technical Conference in Telford, this year’s six awards highlight contributions that have strengthened collaboration across the sector, elevated professional standards, and supported the advancement of metal envelope solutions.

The speakers from day one of the MCRMA technical conference took part in a Q&A session to take questions from members on topics associated with Building Safety Act and building regulations compliance and competence.

Recognising Excellence Across the Sector

Excellence in Engagement – Stephen Hall, Hadley Group
Stephen Hall was honoured for his exceptional ability to engage stakeholders, promote collaboration, and facilitate knowledge-sharing throughout the industry.

Services to the Industry – Colin Yeates, CY Associates (Shire)
This distinguished award acknowledged Colin Yeates’ long-standing influence on the sector through leadership, raising industry standards, and continuously pushing best-practice initiatives.

Long Service Award – Barry Jackson, BJ Associates
Independent inspector Barry Jackson received recognition for decades of dedication to the metal cladding and roofing industry, marking a career defined by commitment and expertise.

Marketing & Communication Award – David Luukas, Building Systems UK (Tata Steel)
Awarded for his active support in promoting best practice and championing the use of metal building envelope solutions across the sector.

Celebrating Both Established and Emerging Talent

Next Generation Award – Sam Hopton, Firth Steels
Recognising the rising professionals shaping the future of the sector, this award went to Sam Hopton, whose early-career achievements and technical leadership have already made notable impact.

Cliff Dyer (Chair’s) Award – Andrew Dunne, Architectural Profiles (APL)
Chosen directly by the MCRMA Chair, this special accolade honours individuals demonstrating exceptional leadership and influence. This year’s recipient, Andrew Dunne, was celebrated for his strategic dedication and industry-wide impact.

The fixings panel wrapped up the MCRMA Technical Conference, a Q&A tackling the numerous technical considerations around roofing and cladding fastening best practice.

A Sector United in Innovation and Professionalism

Presenting the awards, newly appointed MCRMA Chair Adrian Whitefoot praised the winners, stating:
Congratulations to all this year’s award winners, all of whom fully deserve to receive their accolade. The MCRMA’s membership includes many of the industry’s most respected professionals in their fields, so to win an award voted by members is an exceptional achievement.

The awards were presented during a dedicated evening ceremony at the MCRMA 2025 Technical Conference, supported by sponsors Firth Steels, Fixing Point, Hambleside Danelaw and Steadmans. All awards, except the Chair’s Award, were determined through voting by MCRMA members from a shortlist of nominees.
