Stoelzle has appointed Horn Glass Industries to carry out the cold repair of Furnace 1 at its Heřmanova Huť plant in the Czech Republic. The project entails replacing the existing furnace with a new 200 t/d end-fired furnace, designed to produce high-quality amber container glass using natural gas.
The 70 m² furnace will feature HORN’s e-Fusion Power Boosting Systems to support melting and refining while reducing carbon emissions. This upgrade reinforces Stoelzle’s commitment to producing glass containers with lower CO2 output.
The furnace will also be equipped with HORN HRD-BEAM glass level measuring system, advanced measurement and control technology, and a modern combustion system. Engineering, refractory installation, steel construction, equipment setup, and commissioning will all be carried out under HORN’s supervision.
The project will be managed by HORN Glass Industries with support from HORN Moravia a.s., and the furnace repair is expected to be completed in Q1 2026.
