From 20 to 23 October 2026, Düsseldorf will once again host the world’s leading trade fair for the glass industry, glasstec 2026, bringing together global decision-makers, innovators, researchers, and manufacturers across the entire glass value chain.
Organised at Messe Düsseldorf, glasstec 2026 is expected to serve as a central hub for industry transformation, focusing strongly on the future of glass production, processing, and application in architecture, infrastructure, and advanced manufacturing.
Focus on Transformation: Decarbonisation, Circular Economy and AI
At the core of glasstec 2026 is a strong emphasis on the industry’s most pressing challenges. Key topics include decarbonisation strategies, circular economy models, and the integration of artificial intelligence and digital technologies into glass manufacturing and design processes.
These themes will be explored across conferences, forums, and expert panels, bringing together perspectives from science, industry, and applied research. The goal is to translate innovation into practical solutions that support both sustainability targets and industrial competitiveness.

glasstec Conference 2026: Knowledge Meets Innovation
A central highlight of the event is the glasstec conference 2026, which serves as the intellectual backbone of the programme. It will feature international experts discussing the sector’s future development, with sessions dedicated to emerging technologies, sustainable production methods, and advanced material applications.
Established formats such as the glass trends sessions, Start-Up Sessions, CircuClarity Two, and the Glass Melting Pot will return, offering a platform for innovation-driven dialogue and early-stage technologies.
In addition, the integrated architecture forum will showcase leading architectural practices and projects that demonstrate how glass is reshaping modern building envelopes and structural design.
New Format: Women in Glass
For the first time, glasstec will introduce “Women in Glass,” a dedicated initiative highlighting female professionals across the glass industry. The format aims to increase visibility, encourage networking, and strengthen diversity within the sector by sharing expertise and career pathways.
Innovation in Practice: glass technology live and special shows
The highly regarded “glass technology live” exhibition will once again present forward-looking, near-market innovations, giving visitors a hands-on look at the next generation of glass technologies.
Complementing this is the “Handwerk live” area, hosted by the Federal Guild Association of the Glazier Trade, offering practical insights into craftsmanship and applied techniques.

A new special show titled “safe – innovative – sustainable,” developed in cooperation with ift Rosenheim, will focus on resilient and safety-oriented glass solutions, particularly for critical infrastructure applications.
Creative and Industrial Perspectives
Beyond technology and engineering, glasstec 2026 will also showcase the creative potential of glass through its dedicated glass art exhibition, highlighting the material’s artistic and design versatility. According to glasstec director Daniel Feische, the event reflects not only current technological capabilities but also the strategic direction of the industry:
“glasstec 2026 demonstrates where the glass industry is heading. The supporting programme brings key future challenges to the stage and provides concrete impulses for investment and innovation.” glasstec 2026 will take place at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre from 20–23 October 2026. Tickets are available via the official platform of glasstec.
