On 25 November 2025 in Warsaw, the trade magazine Świat Szkła hosted the latest edition of the Glass Horizons conference, gathering experts, researchers, manufacturers and industry stakeholders for a full-day event focused on glass in construction: from scientific research and technical norms to current trends and future perspectives.
Glass Horizons 2025 featured a diverse lineup of speakers representing both academia and industry. Among them were specialists such as dr. inż. Marta Pomada and dr. inż. Zbigniew Respondek from the academic sphere, as well as professionals from organisations like Kuraray Europe GmbH, Aluprof, Swisspacer, ESOX Projekt, and ift Rosenheim Poland.

The program included detailed sessions on topics such as material compatibility and durability of insulated glass units (IGUs), structural and performance aspects of laminated glass, innovations in protective coatings and sealed-unit technologies, and evolving requirements under European construction product regulations.
One of the central themes of the conference was sustainability and circular economy: a session led by Piotr Kardaś from Polskie Szkło addressed new regulatory and recycling challenges related to building glass, an increasingly important issue as Europe tightens environmental standards.

Another significant topic was the increasing complexity of designing glazed structures under modern building norms. Experts discussed differences in normative requirements (e.g., glass strength, load resistance, thermal performance), and how new technologies such as laminated glass, advanced spacers, and protective coatings can meet these evolving demands.
By combining academic research, industry know-how, regulatory foresight, and real-world challenges, Glass Horizons 2025 reaffirmed its role as a key meeting point for the glass and façade community in Poland.

For Świat Szkła, continuing to run Glass Horizons demonstrates its commitment to uniting different stakeholders, reinforcing the magazine’s position not just as a media outlet, but as a platform that actively contributes to shaping the future of glass in architecture and construction.
