The Les Fiches project in Lausanne shows how advanced glass technology transforms design. Designed by Bureau d’Architecture Bonnard & Woeffray, the two hexagonal buildings split office and residential spaces, using glass to deliver both aesthetics and performance.

Revolutionizing Balustrades with Bonded Glass Systems
At the core is Glas Trösch’s SWISSRAILING FLAT, a bonded all-glass balustrade system. Unlike traditional balustrades with visible fixings, this system bonds laminated safety glass directly to the support profile, reducing visual clutter and structural complexity, enabling seamless glass façades.

High-Performance Laminated Glass with Ceramic Print
The balustrades use SWISSLAMEX laminated safety glass, featuring a ceramic print that fades from opaque at the base to a dot pattern above. This enhances privacy and glare control while adding to the building’s architectural identity. It showcases advances in industrial glass manufacturing.

Benefits for Glass Industry and Architecture
Systems like SWISSRAILING FLAT reflect the glass industry’s push for minimalist, safe, durable, and visually appealing solutions. By eliminating visible fixings, these bonded railings simplify installation, reduce maintenance, and increase transparency, key in modern construction.

Shaping Panoramic Living with Glass Innovation
Glas Trösch’s use of bonding and ceramic printing technology in Les Fiches highlights how the glass industry drives new architectural possibilities, merging engineering and design to elevate residential living.
