Euroglas has selected Forglass to deliver a cutting-edge batch plant for its new float glass facility in Lommel, Belgium. Set for completion in 2026, the installation is expected to become the largest batch plant ever built in Europe, marking a major leap in the continent’s industrial glass infrastructure.
Advanced Technology for Precision and Efficiency
Forglass will supply a fully automated system, incorporating its most sophisticated technologies. These include an advanced weighing system and micro-dosing capabilities for precise material input, vital for high-quality float glass production. Full automation will streamline operations while improving accuracy and consistency in batching.
Comprehensive Cullet Management
One of the project’s standout features is its cullet return system. Forglass will integrate crushers, mixers, and metal detection systems to ensure safe and efficient glass recycling. This setup helps reduce the need for virgin raw materials and lowers the plant’s environmental footprint.
Sustainable and Community-Friendly Design
Forglass is building all equipment at its facility in Poland, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and user-friendly maintenance. Special attention has been given to low-noise design, a requirement due to nearby residential zones. This demonstrates the project’s commitment not only to innovation but also to community impact.
A Benchmark for Europe’s Glass Industry
Upon completion, this batch plant will set a new standard for size, technology, and environmental responsibility in Europe’s glass manufacturing sector.
