The 99th Glass-Technology Conference is now in its final abstract submission extension, giving researchers, industry specialists, and emerging professionals one last opportunity to contribute to one of the sector’s most established technical gatherings. Abstracts can be submitted until 31 January 2026, with the conference scheduled for 2–3 June 2026 at the Congress Centrum Würzburg, Germany.
Positioned as a key platform for advancing glass science and production know-how, the event will connect academia and industry around current challenges in material performance, digital transformation, process innovation, and sustainability. With global pressure on decarbonisation, recycling strategies, and higher technical requirements for end-use applications, the conference programme is expected to highlight both foundational research and practical industrial solutions across the value chain.
The preliminary structure is organised into seven technical sessions, reflecting the full spectrum of modern glass development and manufacturing:
- Session 1: Structure, Properties & Characterisation of Glasses
- Session 2: Glass-Ceramics, Crystallisation & Novel Glass Compositions
- Session 3: Applications & Application-related Challenges
- Session 4: Modelling, Simulation, Data & Artificial Intelligence
- Session 5: Industrial Glass Melting & Furnace Technologies
- Session 6: Recycling, Raw Materials & Sustainable Glass Production
- Session 7: Glass Forming, Processing, Automation & Additive Manufacturing
All abstracts and contributions must be submitted in English, ensuring a consistent technical standard and international accessibility for participants and reviewers.
With the final extension deadline now confirmed for 31 January 2026, contributors are encouraged to prepare and upload their abstracts promptly to secure a place in the programme. Full submission rules, guidelines, and the conference structure are available through the event’s official conference website and submission portal.
