The Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) will bring hardware performance into sharp focus at its Annual Conference, taking place March 2–5, 2026, in Huntington Beach, California. A key highlight of the program is the “Hardware Hands-on Workshop | From Components to Performance”, scheduled for March 4, offering attendees an interactive format built around real demonstrations, not just slides and technical documents.
Designed as a two-hour practical session, the workshop gives participants the opportunity to explore how hardware influences product behavior across multiple window and door systems. Florica Vlad, FGIA Events Manager, said the goal is to bridge the gap between standards and real-world application: “Don’t just read about hardware standards. Experience their performance up close.”
The workshop will feature eight stations, with visitors spending approximately 10 minutes at each, learning to identify hardware types while connecting them to relevant FGIA/AAMA performance requirements. Station topics will include:
- Security screens (AAMA 1901)
- Casement operators (AAMA 901)
- Window opening control devices (AAMA TB-03-12)
- Weatherstrips and polymer weatherseals (AAMA 701/702)
- Multi-bar hinges (AAMA 904)
- Sash balances for hung windows (AAMA 902)
- Hinged doors and multi-point locking hardware (AAMA 903 & AAMA 909)
- Corrosion resistance coatings for steel components (AAMA 907)
The program is supported by well-known industry suppliers, including UHD Innovations, Roto Frank, ASSA ABLOY, Quanex, Cooper-Standard, Reed Rubber Products, Ultrafab, and HOPPE North America, reinforcing the workshop’s technical credibility and product relevance.
Registration is open now. FGIA members can access early-bird pricing of $1,050 through February 6, while non-members can register for $1,600 before February 14, increasing to $1,800 after. Spouses and guests may join events for $225, or upgrade to an all-inclusive package including meals and evening events for $450.
