UK trade aluminium fabricator DAWS has announced a £1.4 million investment in new machinery and expanded manufacturing space, reinforcing its commitment to scale, precision and long-term growth within the aluminium sector.
The centrepiece of the investment is a bespoke Schirmer machining centre, delivered to DAWS’ Knowsley facility in December and currently undergoing reassembly, testing and commissioning. Full production is scheduled to begin in January. Designed to meet DAWS’ exact specifications, the new system is expected to deliver significant gains in machining speed, accuracy and repeatability, supporting higher throughput without compromising quality.
Sales Director Phill Cresswell said the upgrade places DAWS in a strong position as demand for high-quality aluminium products continues to grow across the UK market. He noted that the new machinery represents one of the fastest and most precise machining centres currently in operation within the trade aluminium sector.
Alongside the Schirmer installation, the investment programme includes additional manufacturing space and wider equipment upgrades, allowing DAWS to increase capacity and handle more complex fabrication requirements. These enhancements are aligned with the ongoing shift toward residential aluminium systems, where tight tolerances, consistent finishes and reliable lead times are essential.
Looking ahead, DAWS has outlined ambitious plans for 2026, including new product launches, improved marketing support for trade customers and further technological advancements across its operation. The company believes these developments will help customers increase sales and production efficiency while reducing operational friction.
The £1.4 million investment underlines DAWS’ focus on automation, performance and future-proofing its aluminium fabrication business in a competitive and evolving market.
