AluK has launched its new IconiK bi-fold door, offering fabricators and installers a way to stand out from the crowded, price-driven market while maintaining strong margins. The response from customers has been overwhelmingly positive, with seven fabricators signing up to produce the new door within the first month of its launch in November.

Among the early adopters is Southend-based Alu-Tec, currently expanding its showroom to display a sample of the IconiK. Phil Bates, Alu-Tec’s director, said: “We’re excited to introduce this product to our trade customers. Its easier installation features and premium design make it a must-have option for homeowners.” Alu-Tec’s sales representatives have reported strong customer interest, particularly in the door’s slimmer sightlines and larger glazing areas, while the production team has praised its straightforward fabrication process, comparable to the existing BSF70 bi-fold.

Other early fabricators include Rhino in Broadstairs, Kent, which describes the IconiK as a “game-changing product,” and Midori Aluminium in Leicester, marketing it as “Engineered for Excellence.” AluK managing director Russell Yates explained that the IconiK allows customers to differentiate their bi-fold offering from the commodity end of the market. “It has all the premium features to justify its price, but remains cost-effective to manufacture and install, a true win-win,” he said.

From a fabrication perspective, the IconiK simplifies stockholding by using the same outerframe for single and double doors, with only the sash changing between the Standard and Slim versions. A single gasket and extendable keep-and-lock system cover all configurations. For installers, AluK’s Quik Clip glazing bead and wide range of sub-cills save time and make fitting straightforward.

Environmentally, the IconiK delivers excellent thermal performance without insulating foams or PVC, achieving U-Values of 1.3 W/m²K with double glazing and 1.0 W/m²K with triple glazing. Available in open-in and open-out styles, with panel sizes up to 2,400 x 1,200 mm, it can also be configured as a French door to maximise sales opportunities.
