ALCA has been awarded a major new commission for the National Art Gallery of Tirana, Albania’s leading institution for visual arts since 1956. The project marks a significant milestone in the ongoing revitalization of cultural infrastructure in the capital.
The scope includes a striking new extension and the renovation of the façades of the existing building. Designed by Atelier 4 and developed by 4 A-M, the addition will be linked to the historic gallery by a modern bridge, blending heritage with contemporary architecture.

This thoughtful design creates a dialogue between past and present, honoring the gallery’s legacy while introducing new possibilities for exhibitions and public engagement.
As Albania continues to invest in cultural development, the project underscores ALCA’s role in shaping the built environment. Construction will soon begin, and further updates are expected as the transformation of this iconic landmark progresses.
