AGP-A CEO Paul Curnow Appointed Chairman of The Glass Recycling Company

Ardagh Glass Packaging-Africa (AGP-A) has appointed CEO Paul Curnow as Chairman of The Glass Recycling Company (TGRC), South Africa’s leading glass recycling organisation. The appointment strengthens the long-standing relationship between the two organisations and places circularity and material recovery firmly at the centre of industry collaboration.

AGP-A is a founding member of TGRC, having worked with the organisation, customers and local communities to increase glass collection and return cullet to the manufacturing cycle.

The move also aligns with Ardagh’s Clearly Ardagh transformation programme, which targets waste reduction and more efficient resource use. Recycled glass is a critical lever: AGP-A reported a 49% recycled-content rate in 2023, demonstrating the role of cullet in reducing dependence on virgin raw materials and improving resource efficiency.

Curnow will also serve on the board of the Paper and Packaging Producer Responsibility Organisation (PRO) Alliance, extending his role beyond glass into South Africa’s broader producer-responsibility framework.
