Seattle’s Pioneer Square has a new architectural highlight with the renovation of 255 South King Street, home to Embassy Suites and Avalara Hawk Tower. The two-phase project has revitalized the complex while adding a striking new presence to the city’s skyline.
Phase one focused on the 23-story Embassy Suites, which now offers 282 modern guest rooms, a 13,000-square-foot indoor pool, and 26,777 square feet of retail and dining at the ground level. Phase two updated the 19-story Avalara Hawk Tower and introduced a glass-enclosed skybridge connecting the two towers, creating both visual unity and convenience for occupants.

Vitro Architectural Glass played a pivotal role in the renovation with its Solarban® R67 glass, selected for its combination of performance and aesthetics. With 33% visible light transmittance, a solar heat gain coefficient of 0.23, and low-emissivity coatings, Solarban® R67 optimizes daylight while reducing energy consumption.
Its distinctive reflectivity adds a brilliant, mirror-like appearance to the façade, enhancing Seattle’s skyline while ensuring occupant comfort.
