Arglass Paves the Way for Local Job Growth, Targets Doubling Workforce by Tapping into Skilled Talent Pools
Arglass, the leading name in glass manufacturing, is set to undergo a substantial workforce expansion, with plans to double their employee base in the coming year. This initiative not only creates promising prospects for local talent streams but also contributes to the retention of skilled professionals in the region by offering lucrative opportunities in the tech and manufacturing sectors.
In the year 2025, Arglass will mark a significant milestone with the completion of its second facility in Valdosta, Georgia, USA. This expansion is poised to generate an additional 130 jobs, bringing the total count to 320 positions, all filled by local talent and skilled tradesmen. José de Diego Arozamena, Arglass Chief Executive Officer, emphasized the company’s commitment to building a strong team from the local community, providing training in the burgeoning industry to foster mutual growth.
Arozamena stated, “We want to build our team from the local community. Train them in this new industry so that they can grow with us.” Arglass has forged a strategic partnership with Wiregrass Technical College, actively collaborating to develop essential skills in mechanical, electromechanical, and automation. Additionally, a recent alliance with Valdosta State University enhances the workforce by offering supplementary skills and training.
“Wiregrass has been great in developing those talents and helping us develop those talents. Some of the best people we have come from Wiregrass,” added Arozamena. Ron Holmes, Arglass Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Sustainability, emphasized the value of local education in contributing to a skilled workforce. Holmes mentioned, “Students being at Valdosta State and Wiregrass, getting their education and leaving, they can secure a good environment and good paying job at Arglass, which will keep them here.”
According to Arglass, the collaboration with educational institutions such as Wiregrass and Valdosta State ensures a steady supply of qualified professionals. This, in turn, enables Arglass to keep crucial aspects like engineering, maintenance, and technology needs in-house, avoiding the need for outsourcing.
