The first day of glasstec 2026, taking place on 20 October in Düsseldorf, brings together glass industry professionals, researchers and technology specialists for a programme focused on circular economy, manufacturing, glass finishing and collaboration.
Organised around practical applications and emerging industry developments, the opening-day programme features several events across Halls 10 and 11, combining technical presentations with opportunities for professional exchange.

At Glass Technology Live, Hall 11, Stand C28, CircuClarity Two returns following its debut in 2024. Running from 10:00 to 15:45, the programme examines how circular economy pilot projects can develop into scalable industrial solutions, with sessions covering material recovery systems and collaboration.
In Hall 10, Handwerk Live runs throughout the day, offering practical demonstrations, presentations and specialist knowledge related to the glazier trade. Meanwhile, Glass Trends Live explores developments in glass production, technology, products and applications.
The afternoon programme includes two additional events. GlassPrint LIVE, making its debut at glasstec, takes place from 16:45 to 17:30 at Hall 10, Stand A10, highlighting developments in glass printing and finishing ahead of GlassPrint 2027.

Another new initiative, women in glass, brings together women working in production, technology, research, design and management for a keynote, panel discussion and networking session from 15:30 to 18:00.
The day concludes at Glass Technology Live with glass melting pot, where research projects and industrial practice meet through presentations on glass technology, design and production.
