Overhead Door Corp. has strengthened its position in the automatic entrance market through the acquisition of Motion Access, an Elk Grove Village, Illinois-based specialist in automatic pedestrian door solutions.
Motion Access provides automatic door operators, replacement parts, retrofit systems and rebuilt equipment, serving customers requiring both new installations and maintenance solutions. Following the acquisition, the company will retain its existing name and operate as part of Horton Automatics, Overhead Door’s operational division responsible for Horton Automatics, Won-Door and Door Services Corp.
According to Overhead Door President and CEO Kelly Terry, Motion Access has established a strong reputation in automatic entrance solutions, and its integration into the Horton organization will expand the company’s capabilities in aftermarket services and customer support.
The acquisition also broadens Overhead Door’s product and service offering across North America, particularly in areas where replacement, retrofit and maintenance requirements are becoming increasingly important for existing automatic door installations.
The transaction follows Horton Automatics’ recent acquisition of Your Automatic Door Company, an Indiana-based specialist in automatic door installation and service. That deal expanded Horton’s direct service presence in Indiana.
