Kuraray to Host Free Webinar on Designing Hurricane-Resistant Facades

Kuraray will host a free technical webinar in Spanish on September 1, 2026, focusing on the design of hurricane-resistant façades and glazing systems. The 60-minute online session will begin at 10:00 a.m. (Mexico City, CST) and will be presented by façade specialists Anayeli Tapia and Javier Lozano.

The webinar will examine the critical role of laminated safety glass and engineered glazing systems in protecting buildings located in hurricane-prone regions. As extreme weather events become more frequent and severe, façade performance has become a key consideration for architects, façade consultants, structural engineers and glazing professionals responsible for designing resilient building envelopes.

Participants will gain practical guidance on specifying glazing systems capable of withstanding high wind pressures, wind-borne debris impacts, and cyclic loading associated with hurricanes. The speakers will discuss how interlayer technologies used in laminated glass help maintain the integrity of the building envelope after glass breakage, reducing the risk of injury, water infiltration and interior damage during major storms.

The session will also feature real-world case studies and technical examples from projects across Mexico and Latin America, highlighting regional design challenges and applicable performance requirements.
