Serbia-based Profiglass, founded in 1989 in Belgrade, has strengthened its insulating glass manufacturing capabilities through the installation of the LiSEC BSV-45NK spacer bending machine, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to precision, consistency, and process reliability. Serving window manufacturers across the region with a team of approximately 30 employees, the company has built its reputation on delivering insulating glass units with uniform quality, ensuring that every product performs identically in large-scale window production. As Production Manager Dragan Krusic explains, customers rely on thousands of identical insulating glass units, making production consistency a critical competitive advantage rather than simply a quality target.
The investment represents the latest milestone in a partnership between Profiglass and LiSEC that dates back to the early 1990s. Over more than three decades, Profiglass has integrated multiple LiSEC solutions into its insulating glass production, with several machines continuing to operate reliably after decades of daily use.

This proven durability, combined with LiSEC’s engineering expertise, played a key role in the company’s decision to modernize its spacer processing with the BSV-45NK. Accurate spacer bending is essential for insulating glass performance, directly influencing dimensional accuracy, sealing quality, gas retention, thermal insulation, and the long-term durability of the finished unit.
The new LiSEC BSV-45NK introduces several technological improvements designed to enhance productivity while maintaining exceptional precision. The machine delivers highly repeatable bending results across a broad range of spacer profiles and incorporates an integrated 15-slot automatic magazine that automatically selects the required spacer material, reducing manual handling and minimizing production interruptions.

A built-in heating device enables the processing of warm bendable glass-fibre reinforced plastic spacers, allowing manufacturers to produce advanced warm-edge insulating glass systems. The machine also supports DXF file imports, enabling the production of custom spacer geometries and complex free-form shapes without additional programming. Furthermore, an automatically width-adjustable bending tool reduces setup times and operator intervention while minimizing material waste throughout production.
Processing several hundred spacers each day, Profiglass requires equipment capable of adapting to varying production volumes without compromising accuracy. According to Dragan Krusic, one of the most noticeable benefits since installation has been the consistently high bending quality achieved by the new system.

By combining automated process control, flexible material handling, and precise spacer forming, the LiSEC BSV-45NK provides the stable production foundation needed to manufacture high-performance insulating glass units while supporting Profiglass’s long-term strategy of delivering reliable, repeatable quality to every customer.
