WindowMaster and VEKA Launch Certified PVCu Smoke Ventilation Window System

WindowMaster has teamed up with profile specialist VEKA to introduce a newly certified smoke ventilation window solution that meets EN 12101-2 standards, ensuring compliance with UK fire safety regulations.

The project enhances VEKA’s Halo System 10 and M70 window systems, working alongside approved partners Teal Products and L J Pratley & Partners. Each unit is equipped with WindowMaster’s advanced actuators for effective smoke control, giving fabricators the ability to supply PVCu windows designed for smoke evacuation in compliance with stringent safety laws.

These systems play a crucial role in removing smoke from key escape routes such as stairwells and corridors during fire incidents, protecting occupants and aiding evacuation. The products have achieved UKCA marking and passed rigorous tests, including reliability, low temperature performance, wind load resistance, heat resistance, and fire reaction, all conducted with WindowMaster’s automation components.

WindowMaster CEO Erik Boyter emphasised the importance of integrating smoke control from the design stage, highlighting smoke as a leading cause of fire fatalities. Jack Scullion, VEKA’s product and innovation manager, noted that the partnership combines safety with innovation, offering a fully tested PVCu option that supports safer building environments and provides installers and specifiers with a dependable smoke ventilation solution.
