For the first time since the launch of its new format, VITRUM 2027 has presented its renewed concept outside Italy, choosing GlassBuild America 2026 as its first international stage. The exhibition will take place from 16 to 19 November 2027 at Fiera Milano Rho.
The presentation introduced key changes, including the partnership between GIMAV and Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) and the appointment of Barbara Antonini as President. The new edition will retain links with previous events while expanding its focus on the glass industry’s evolving needs.
At the centre of this direction is the Glass Economy, an interconnected ecosystem encompassing technologies, manufacturing, applications and the wider glass value chain. The hollow glass sector will receive particular attention.
The choice of the United States reflects its importance to Italian glass machinery manufacturers. According to GIMAV, the US remains Italy’s primary non-EU market, despite a more complex economic environment. 
Italian exports to the United States fell to €152.3 million, down 32.7%. However, Italy’s overall market share increased from 6.8% to 7%, reaching 22.1% in hollow glass.
