Vitro Architectural Glass is proud to announce that its innovative product, VacuMax™ Vacuum Insulating Glass (VIG), has been honored with the prestigious Top Product of the Year Award in the Environment+Energy Leader Awards program.

This recognition underscores the exceptional sustainability and energy management excellence that VacuMax™ VIG delivers.

VacuMax™ VIG stands out as a versatile solution, offering impressive center-of-glass (COG) R-values that match or surpass the thermal performance of traditional walls. Comprising two fully tempered glass lites separated by a non-leaded metal seal and a vacuum air space, VacuMax™ VIG units are designed for seamless integration into various glazing systems, significantly enhancing thermal efficiency. With insulation performance two to four times better than conventional insulating glass and up to 14 times better than standard monolithic glass, VacuMax™ VIG sets a new standard for energy efficiency.

Noteworthy is the exceptional longevity and resistance to thermal expansion or contraction exhibited by VacuMax™ VIG compared to other VIG products. These units not only provide substantial energy savings but also contribute to reduced carbon emissions, making them a sustainable choice for architectural projects.

Jessica Hunt, Co-President of E+E Leader, commended this year’s winners, emphasizing the impact of innovation in driving sustainability efforts across the industry. The introduction of six distinct award categories underscores the diverse ways companies are leading the charge towards a more sustainable future.

In a recent development, Vitro has enhanced VacuMax™ VIG to offer improved thermal performance and aesthetics. The latest generation of VacuMax™ VIG now features Solarban® 70 solar-control, low-e glass by Vitro, resulting in a remarkable 79% enhancement in U-values and achieving world-leading R-values of up to R20. The visual upgrades, including the elimination of vacuum ports and concealed “getters,” have further elevated the unit’s aesthetics, enhancing its appeal in architectural designs.

The recognition of VacuMax™ Vacuum Insulating Glass as a Top Product of the Year underscores Vitro Architectural Glass’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and excellence in the architectural glass industry. This award serves as a testament to the company’s dedication to driving forward the sustainability agenda and delivering cutting-edge solutions for energy-efficient building design.
