TUROMAS and Üveg Partner for Cutting-Edge Glass Solutions
In an exciting development for the glass industry, TUROMAS, a leading provider of glass processing equipment, has been selected as the trusted supplier by Üveg for its state-of-the-art plant in Cordoba. The partnership between these two industry leaders signifies a commitment to innovation, efficiency, and meeting the evolving demands of the market.
Üveg, a prominent company based in Cordoba, Argentina, has established a sprawling 12,000 square meter facility spanning over 3.5 hectares. The plant boasts a fully automated infrastructure equipped with cutting-edge technology and machinery from renowned European brands. This investment in advanced equipment highlights Üveg’s dedication to delivering exceptional quality and staying at the forefront of the glass manufacturing industry.
At the Cordoba plant, Üveg carries out various essential processes, including the tempering and lamination of jumbo glass, the production of double and triple glazing units with argon gas, and the processing of glass with special coatings such as TPF or Easy PRO. With the integration of TUROMAS’ cutting-edge equipment, Üveg is well-positioned to produce flawlessly finished glass products, meeting the highest standards of quality and performance.

To bring this ambitious project to life, Üveg’s co-founder, Santiago Ürményi, drew upon his extensive experience in managing prominent glass factories. Inspired by the challenges faced by the industry, Ürményi embarked on a worldwide tour, visiting 25 glass processing plants to gather insights and design a cutting-edge facility that caters to the demands of global markets.

During this journey, Ürményi discovered TUROMAS as a reliable partner capable of providing the technological solutions required to meet Üveg’s exacting needs. The selection process involved careful evaluation and extensive visits to over 20 European plants to identify the most suitable machinery for Üveg’s operations. Ultimately, TUROMAS emerged as the ideal choice, offering a comprehensive range of advanced equipment that perfectly aligns with Üveg’s vision.
The installation process of TUROMAS’ equipment has been exceptional, with dedicated technicians traveling from Spain to Argentina to ensure a seamless setup. Üveg has appreciated the professionalism and support extended by the TUROMAS team throughout the entire installation and start-up phase. The collaboration has resulted in a first-class installation, featuring cutting-edge machinery that guarantees efficiency, precision, and optimal production capacity.

Notable among the equipment supplied by TUROMAS is the intelligent glass storage system, LA-06, equipped with dual supply systems for cutting, facilitated by two MAM-06 tilting tables. The storage system incorporates a grid with high-precision, high-power vacuum suction cups, designed to securely hold and transport glass panels. This advanced technology significantly reduces loading time and enhances productivity, ensuring a continuous flow of glass throughout the cutting process.
In addition to the LA-06 storage system, TUROMAS has installed an external SG-06 automatic remnant warehouse, providing a safe storage solution for glass remnants. The remnant warehouse system accurately catalogues the remnants’ measurements, glass types, and exact locations, facilitating their efficient use for future optimization purposes.
To streamline operations, TUROMAS’ software solutions, including StockGlass and LinkGlass, have been seamlessly integrated into Üveg’s workflow. StockGlass simplifies inventory management by automating stock information collection in the warehouses, while LinkGlass automates the production sequence, eliminating the need for manual intervention in work order selection and load scheduling.
TUROMAS has also delivered two cutting lines for Üveg’s glass processing requirements. The first is a complete RUBI 516C float cutting line, equipped with linear motors and the TX-6A automatic cut-off saw. This cutting system ensures high-quality edge finishes at a constant rate, enabling a smooth and uninterrupted glass flow on the cutting line. Additionally, TUROMAS’ Cutting TV application provides real-time visualizations of optimizations, empowering operators with comprehensive information about parts, remnants, and required processes for each optimization. This paperless solution enhances efficiency while allowing customization of fields and adjustment of parameters for optimal performance.
The second cutting line, a mixed LAM 504TX line for monolithic and laminated glass, incorporates a second synchronized cutting bridge, the LAM 304. This cutting system features TUROMAS’ Splitter software, enabling automated balancing and distribution of transversals based on specific optimization needs. By assisting operators in decision-making, this software enhances precision and efficiency in the cutting process.
Üveg’s collaboration with TUROMAS has propelled its success beyond local markets, enabling the company to compete with established firms in countries such as Chile, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and Spain. Thanks to their strategic investment and a talented team, Üveg has secured significant projects scheduled for completion from late 2022 to early 2023. This achievement marks a milestone for Üveg, solidifying its reputation as a key player in Argentina and the region.
Santiago Ürményi, co-founder of Üveg, expresses his satisfaction with the partnership, stating, “Thanks to the investment we have made and the team we are building, we have been able to secure major projects for our plant, both in Argentina and the wider region. We are delighted to bring our vision to life and meet the demands of these important projects.”
The collaboration between TUROMAS and Üveg stands as a testament to their shared commitment to excellence, innovation, and industry leadership. With TUROMAS’ cutting-edge equipment and Üveg’s dedication to delivering top-quality glass products, the partnership is poised to revolutionize the glass manufacturing landscape in Cordoba and beyond.
