In a significant step towards reinforcing its environmental commitments, Thermoseal Group has unveiled a new logo that symbolizes its ongoing dedication to sustainability following its acquisition by Fenzi Group Spa in July 2024.
This rebranding not only marks a new chapter for the company but also highlights the shared values and ambitions that both organizations uphold in the realm of energy efficiency and environmental responsibility.
Gwain Paterson, Managing Director of Thermoseal Group, expressed the company’s vision, stating, “Our driving ambition has always been to produce energy-efficient products by energy-efficient means, and our acquisition by Fenzi only strengthened this approach.” This partnership, rooted in a mutual emphasis on sustainability, has paved the way for an evolution of Thermoseal Group’s brand identity, seamlessly incorporating Fenzi’s ethos and accountability for green initiatives.
A prime example of this commitment is the establishment of Thermoseal Group’s new Thermobar recycling plant, located at its Wigan factory. This state-of-the-art facility is designed to handle all lengths of Thermobar warm edge spacers, transforming them back into pellets that can be reused in the manufacturing process. With the capability to incorporate up to 20% of recycled material into Thermobar production without sacrificing performance, the plant has effectively turned the manufacturing of this industry-leading warm edge spacer bar into a zero-waste operation.
The environmental benefits of the recycling initiative are significant. “As well as the significant landfill benefits that are generated by the recycling of the raw materials, the recycling plant is also powered by a Solar PV System that we installed last year, so we are minimizing our emissions in the process,” explained Gwain. The Solar PV System now produces an impressive 420MW of electricity annually, reducing the company’s reliance on the grid and ensuring that approximately 15% of the power used at Thermoseal Group is generated sustainably.
Fenzi Group’s recognition as recipients of the EcoVadis Silver Medal for corporate social responsibility further strengthens the partnership’s commitment to sustainability. The ongoing Green Future code of practice adopted by Fenzi is expected to yield a multitude of environmental benefits for Thermoseal Group and its customers, reinforcing the notion that sustainable practices are not just a trend but a fundamental aspect of modern business operations.
