Şişecam’s Vision for a Greener Future
As part of an ambitious project, Şişecam takes a pioneering role in developing eco-friendly automotive glass, aligning with the EU’s carbon neutrality goal for 2035.
Driving Clean Energy Solutions
The ZEvRA (Zero Emission Electric Vehicles Enabled by Harmonised Circularity) project, backed by a substantial EUR 250,000 grant from the European Union’s Horizon Europe program, aims to revolutionize the circularity of electric light-duty vehicles. Şişecam stands alongside 28 esteemed partners, including automotive giants like Skoda, Citroen, Peugeot, Toyota, and Volkswagen, in this groundbreaking initiative.
Leading the Green Revolution
Coordinated by the renowned Fraunhofer Institute, Europe’s largest applied science, research, and development organization, the ZEvRA project is driven by the EU’s aggressive zero carbon emission target for 2035. At the core of Şişecam’s role in this 36-month endeavor is the production of competitive, low-carbon footprint, and high-value-added automotive glass in harmony with its sustainability commitment.
Solar-Powered Innovation
In a bid to minimize natural resource consumption and chemical usage, Şişecam plans to bolster vehicle batteries with specially crafted solar glass. This innovative approach not only supports cleaner energy but also underscores Şişecam’s commitment to pioneering sustainable solutions in the automotive industry.
Şişecam’s involvement in the ZEvRA project represents a significant stride toward a cleaner, more competitive, and sustainable future for electric vehicles and the automotive industry as a whole.
