Regency Glass has added a Sparklike Laser Portable 2.2 to its insulating glass unit (IGU) quality-control process as part of its ongoing manufacturing investment programme. The system was supplied by Inagas, Sparklike’s official UK and Ireland distributor.
The laser analyser provides non-destructive measurement of insulating-gas concentration directly in sealed IGUs. Regency is using the Laser Portable 2.2 alongside two Sparklike Handheld devices, enabling gas concentration to be checked routinely at the end of the production line.
According to Deb Fitzmartin, Chief Quality Officer at Regency Glass, the company conducts spot-check testing more frequently than required by regulations. The system provides immediate measurement results and data logging, allowing Regency to document gas concentration levels rather than relying solely on production assumptions.
The Sparklike Laser Portable 2.2 is being used across Regency’s product range, including thick laminated-glass units, coated-glass units, standard triple-glazed IGUs and the new Regency Triple®, which incorporates Corning® Enlighten™ Glass. 
The investment follows the launch of Regency Triple® and forms part of a broader expansion of the company’s manufacturing capability. Regency says the additional testing equipment supports consistent gas-fill verification as production volumes increase.
Inagas Sales Director Chris Kemp said the installation demonstrates Regency’s continued focus on maintaining detailed quality controls while scaling its operation.
