PUJOL Acquires Teknokilns’ Glass Division and Expands Its Portfolio with Innovative “TEMPER FLEX” Tempering Furnaces
In a move that underscores its commitment to delivering high-quality transformation solutions, Spanish company HORNOS INDUSTRIALES PUJOL has acquired the glass division of Italian firm TEKNOKILNS. As part of the deal, PUJOL will incorporate the entire client portfolio, services, know-how, and engineering for the manufacture and development of thermal tempering furnaces of TEKNOKILNS, which will now be produced entirely at PUJOL’s production plant in Barcelona, Spain.
The acquisition aligns with PUJOL’s strategic expansion plan and strengthens the company’s position in all transformation processes related to safety glass. It also fills a gap in PUJOL’s product portfolio, allowing it to offer new solutions to customers that were previously unavailable.
PUJOL’s new “TEMPER FLEX” tempering furnaces, equipped with various innovative technological solutions of unique convection heating systems, offer high final optical quality with low planimetry distortion, low energy consumption, and great flexibility and adaptability of operation, all with low maintenance and installed power necessary for commissioning. The new ovens are suitable for both laminated and tempered glass and come in three basic measurements between 3,600 x 1,500 / 4,500 x 2,500 / 6,000 x 3,200 meters.
Jorge Pujol, CEO of PUJOL, says, “This new acquisition, together with PUJOL’s centuries-old tradition and experience in the development of ovens, reinforces our commitment as a company to our customers to offer them a reliable and advanced product. We are following our “Road Book 2020,” which we were forced to pause and review due to the COVID pandemic, but now we are back to cruising speed that has always differentiated us as a leading and innovative company.”
The acquisition is a significant milestone for PUJOL, allowing it to position itself as a preferred partner in the market in the manufacture of transformation solutions of safety glass. Customers can count on PUJOL as an integral partner to cover their production needs with the new “TEMPER FLEX” tempering furnaces.
Joaquín Pujol, commercial director of PUJOL, adds, “We are fully satisfied to close a new circle, which surely will not be the last within our Plan. Our customers will benefit from a product and a global offer with a high technological value that will allow them to gain in competitiveness and service.”
