The National Glass Association now offers the Tempering Technician Certificate via MyGlassFAB on MyGlassClass.com. Developed by Fabricating Committee experts, the 3.5-hour program delivers interactive modules guiding tempering production personnel through the full heat-treatment process. Designed for accessibility, it breaks training into short segments focused on best practices, equipment preparation, and quality control, helping improve consistency in glass fabrication operations.
Suitable for furnace operators, production supervisors, and quality control teams, the course covers glass preparation, furnace heat distribution control, inspection techniques, and equipment maintenance. Delivered through MyGlassClass.com and MyGlassFAB it can be accessed on desktop or mobile devices, allowing users to reference modules directly on the production floor. The program is also available in Spanish and concludes with a certificate of achievement upon completion.
Jenni Chase said the program addresses industry challenges such as inconsistent onboarding and high turnover. The certificate costs $299 for members and $399 for non-members, with bulk discounts available for companies training multiple employees.
The program reflects a broader industry push toward standardized digital training in glass manufacturing, helping reduce production errors and improve workforce readiness. By offering modular, on-demand learning, it supports both new hires and experienced technicians seeking refresher training.
