Insights from Alukoenigstahl Albania at Zak World of Façades Tirana

Tirana hosted the 215th edition of Zak World of Façades, bringing the internationally recognised conference series to the Albanian capital. The event, focused on façade engineering, building envelope innovation, and sustainable design, took place at the Maritim Plaza Hotel and gathered around 300 professionals from across the architecture and construction sectors.

The conference was supported by Alukönigstahl as Presenting Partner, with whom we had the opportunity to conduct an interview to gain expert insights into their expertise, market outlook, and strategic vision for the region.

Here’s what they shared:

Our core expertise lies in combining innovative technologies with specialized technical support for architects, designers, and contractors.

2. What motivated your participation in this year’s ZAK World of Façades in Tirana?

Our participation in ZAK World of Façades Tirana reflects our commitment to staying closely connected with the local architectural and development community. The event provides a valuable platform to exchange knowledge on the latest industry trends and foster strategic collaborations. It is also aligned with our broader strategy to strengthen our presence in the Balkans and introduce international standards to the Albanian market.

3. How do you assess the Albanian façade and construction market?

The Albanian construction market is developing rapidly, with a noticeable increase in residential and commercial projects that demand higher quality and performance. We are observing a clear shift toward energy-efficient façade solutions and more contemporary architectural designs. This evolution creates significant opportunities for the implementation of advanced systems that meet European standards.

4. What solutions or innovations are you introducing to this market?

We offer a wide range of high-performance façade, window, and door systems designed for superior thermal and acoustic efficiency. These solutions are adapted to local climatic conditions and the growing demand for energy savings. In addition, we provide technologies that simplify installation and enhance system durability, ultimately optimizing costs for investors and developers.

5. What distinguishes your company in a competitive façade industry?

What sets us apart is the combination of technological innovation and continuous technical support for our partners. We do not only supply products, but integrated solutions, from design development through to project execution. A strong focus on sustainability, energy efficiency, and design flexibility allows architects to achieve creative freedom without compromising performance.

6. Do you see Albania and the region as part of your long-term strategy?

Yes, Albania and the wider Balkan region are an important part of our long-term growth strategy. We see strong potential for development, particularly in urban projects and high-standard buildings. We are currently involved in several projects at different stages of development and aim to expand collaborations with local partners to bring more high-quality projects to the market.
