Coca-Cola Consolidated Invests USD 35 Million to Expand Glass Bottle Production in Indianapolis

Coca-Cola Consolidated has announced a USD 35 million investment in its Indianapolis manufacturing facility, reinforcing the company’s long-term commitment to expanding beverage production capabilities in the United States. The investment will fund the installation of a new glass bottle production line, making the site one of only three facilities within the Coca-Cola system nationwide equipped to bottle beverages in glass packaging.

Construction on the new line is expected to begin in late 2026. Once operational, the expansion is projected to create between 15 and 20 new full-time jobs while also generating additional economic activity through construction work, supplier partnerships and supporting local services.

The Indianapolis facility has been operating since 1968 and currently runs four production lines, including two PET and rPET bottle lines alongside two canning lines. The site also features a production warehouse and plays a significant role in the company’s broader sustainability initiatives.

According to the company, the addition of glass bottle production aligns with increasing consumer demand for premium and recyclable beverage packaging. Glass remains an important packaging format within the beverage industry due to its recyclability, durability and ability to preserve product quality without affecting taste.

Dave Katz, President and Chief Operating Officer of Coca-Cola Consolidated, said the project reflects the company’s ongoing strategy to strengthen operational capabilities while investing in local communities.

“This expansion is another example of how we strategically invest in our business to build a solid operational foundation and create opportunities for our teammates in the communities where they live and work,” Katz stated.
