Glaston Earns EcoVadis Bronze Medal, Improving Sustainability Score by 10 Points

Glaston Corp. has achieved a significant milestone by being awarded a bronze medal from EcoVadis for its continued commitment to sustainability.

This accolade reflects Glaston’s dedication to enhancing its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices, marking a noteworthy improvement in its sustainability score.

EcoVadis, a globally recognized provider of sustainability ratings, assesses corporate sustainability across multiple dimensions, including environmental impact, human and labor rights, ethical practices, and sustainable procurement. In its latest report, EcoVadis found that Glaston’s strengths prominently lie in ethics and environmental issues, which played a pivotal role in the company’s commendable performance.

Notably, Glaston’s sustainability score improved by 10 points, rising to 65 out of 100 compared to its previous assessment in 2023. It is important to highlight that, in light of updated criteria and stricter scale assessments introduced by EcoVadis, Glaston’s score narrowly missed the silver medal mark by just one point. However, this improvement positioned the company among the top 17% of firms evaluated globally, underscoring its commitment to sustainable practices in a competitive landscape.

Marko Mökkönen, Glaston’s director of sustainability, stated, “Sustainability is at the heart of our strategy, and the bronze medal encourages us to continue our ambitious sustainability work. The assessment gives us an excellent overall picture, and the results help us to know what aspects are in good order and identify areas requiring improvement.” This statement encapsulates Glaston’s proactive approach toward sustainability, serving not only as an acknowledgment of their current efforts but also as a catalyst for future developments.

EcoVadis has assessed over 130,000 companies across 200 industries and 180 countries, utilizing a methodology grounded in widely accepted principles of corporate sustainability reporting. These include frameworks such as the United Nations Global Compact, the Global Reporting Initiative guidelines, and the ISO 26000 standard. The robust assessment framework ensures that companies like Glaston are held accountable for their sustainability practices, encouraging continuous improvement.

As organizations worldwide increasingly prioritize sustainable practices, Glaston’s recognition by EcoVadis highlights the growing importance of sustainability in today’s business landscape. This bronze medal is not merely a milestone; it is a stepping stone toward more ambitious sustainability goals. Glaston’s journey illustrates the vital role that transparent, sustainable practices play in building a resilient and responsible business model.
