Glasstech Mexico Fair Witnesses Glass for Europe’s Vision on Added-Value Glazing

On the second day of the Glasstech Mexico fair, Bertrand Cazes, Glass for Europe’s Secretary General, delivered a captivating speech on “Drivers of added-value glazing in buildings, Europe’s experience and way forward.” The speech shed light on the European glass industry’s vision to generate sustainability, growth, and added value throughout the glazing sector.

Focus on Added-Value Levers

Cazes emphasized three crucial added-value levers that are most relevant to Europe: providing high-energy-performance glazing, highlighting glazing’s benefits in healthy buildings (such as light, comfort, and acoustic properties), and leading the way in building glass sustainability. The European industry is already offering innovative solutions to enhance sustainability and contribute to the growth of the glazing sector.

Growing Relevance in Mexico and Central America

Participants from all over Mexico and Central America expressed their increasing interest in sustainability concerns and the advanced properties of glazing. These aspects are gaining prominence in the region and have the potential to further promote glass in construction.

Largest Glazing Industry Fair in Mexico

This year marked the third edition of the Glasstech Mexico fair, held from July 19 to 21 at the Citibanamex Centre in Mexico City. The event witnessed the participation of over 150 exhibitors from the glass, glazing, and machinery sectors, making it the largest glazing industry fair in Mexico.
