Forel’s FG – Fast Grinder Machine is designed to accelerate vertical glass edge processing by combining seaming and rough edge grinding in a single cycle. Featuring two operating heads and four spindles, the machine performs both operations simultaneously on rectangular and shaped glass.
Seaming removes sharp edges and minor imperfections, while rough edge grinding produces a uniform, matte-finished edge. Traditionally carried out in separate stages, these processes are combined in the FG to reduce processing time while maintaining consistent edge quality.
Developed for high-volume industrial glass processing, the Fast Grinder addresses a key production challenge: maintaining consistent throughput across successive manufacturing stages.

The machine can be integrated directly into Forel’s insulating glass production lines, incorporating edge preparation into the automated workflow. This reduces the need for separate processing stages and intermediate glass handling, helping minimize interruptions and prevent bottlenecks.
By combining two operations within one processing cycle, the FG supports a more continuous production flow. Its role extends beyond faster individual processing, contributing to improved coordination between edge preparation and subsequent insulating glass manufacturing stages.
First unveiled at Vitrum 2025, the FG represents a further development in Forel’s vertical edge processing technology. Its combination of four-spindle operation, simultaneous seaming and grinding, and direct production-line integration is intended to help glass processors increase productivity while maintaining reliable processing quality.
