The (FGIA) will host its Virtual Summer Summit on June 23–24, bringing together industry professionals for two days of discussions covering residential and commercial market trends, regulatory developments, product certification, and building performance.
The online event will feature expert-led sessions addressing some of the most pressing topics facing the fenestration and glazing industry, including Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) legislation, blast-resistant glazing applications, security screen certification, and emerging residential design trends.
Among the highlights is a session examining the evolving landscape of EPR laws across the United States. Legal experts Rachel Bond and Sheila Millar of Keller & Heckman will provide an update on current legislation, ongoing legal challenges, and the potential implications for manufacturers and other stakeholders.
Residential-focused programming will include a panel discussion titled “25 Years of Black Vinyl – Evolution, Engineering and Performance,” exploring the growing popularity and technical development of black vinyl window systems. Attendees will also receive updates on FGIA’s new Security Screen Certification program and its potential to create new market opportunities.
Commercial sessions will focus on the design and specification of blast-resistant fenestration systems, as well as best practices for conducting effective site inspections. Industry experts will share practical guidance aimed at improving project outcomes and ensuring compliance with performance requirements.
In addition, FGIA representatives will present the latest updates on building codes, legislation, and regulatory developments in both the United States and Canada, providing participants with insight into changes that may affect future projects and business operations.
According to Florica Vlad, Events Manager at FGIA, the summit agenda has been shaped directly by member feedback and industry priorities, with a focus on delivering practical and timely information that supports business success across both residential and commercial sectors.
