From glass melting furnaces to complete glass plants, HORN Glass Industries AG delivers cutting-edge solutions trusted by global glass manufacturers.
Illuminating the Future: Photovoltaic Power Unleashed
Over the past 13 months, HORN Glass Industries AG collaborated with SM Energy GmbH to install a state-of-the-art photovoltaic system, generating nearly one megawatt of power. This initiative, commissioned in September, involves 2,498 modules sprawled across 4,802 m², expected to produce a remarkable 935 MWh annually. The ultimate goal? To cover up to 50% of their energy needs, steering the company towards a sustainable, energy-efficient future.
Pioneering Sustainability: One Module at a Time
This photovoltaic marvel powers various facets of HORN’s operations, from administration to production machinery and futuristic charging stations for electric company cars. The installation also necessitated a larger transformer house, ensuring seamless integration into the grid. Future plans include extending solar modules to all existing buildings, emphasizing HORN’s unwavering commitment to sustainable energy practices.
Amidst these innovations, HORN Glass Industries AG continues its legacy of excellence, embarking on a transformative journey towards a cleaner, greener tomorrow.
