Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) has announced a significant extension of its CelestiAL-R supply agreement with the BMW Group, solidifying a long-standing partnership focused on sustainable and high-quality aluminium for automotive applications.
The agreement underscores BMW’s commitment to environmentally responsible sourcing and EGA’s leading role in the production of low-carbon aluminium.
BMW utilizes EGA’s CelestiAL-R, a premium aluminium product, in the manufacturing of its vehicles’ high-quality components. The signing of the new agreement was marked by a visit from Oliver Zipse, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG, to EGA’s Jebel Ali plant and the Dubai Electricity & Water Authority’s Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. This visit served as a powerful symbol of the shared commitment to sustainability underpinning the partnership. The solar park visit further emphasizes the environmentally conscious production methods employed by EGA in the creation of CelestiAL-R.
EGA has been a reliable supplier of aluminium to the BMW Group since 2013, establishing a proven track record of meeting and exceeding industry standards. This extended agreement builds upon this history of successful collaboration.
Abdulnasser Bin Kalban, Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Global Aluminium, commented on the significance of the agreement: “The BMW Group demands the highest quality metal produced with solar power, and this continues to drive our innovation at EGA. Over the coming years, we will further increase the proportion of recycled metal in our CelestiAL-R for the BMW Group while meeting their metal quality specifications.
