DoorCo and Winkhaus Develop New Interlocking Hardware for Stable Doors

DoorCo and Winkhaus UK have introduced a new double radius Interlocking Stable Door Solution, developed to simplify manufacturing, improve installation and expand hardware options for stable door systems.

The development builds on the companies’ established collaboration on locking hardware for DoorCo’s purpose-built stable door range, available across its ORiGINAL and GRiPCORE collections. The new solution addresses specific manufacturing requirements while responding to demand for more adaptable door configurations.

The system features four locking points, combining separate hooks and deadbolts for the upper and lower sections of the door. An integrated shootbolt connects the two sections internally, eliminating the need for additional visible hardware. This configuration maintains the interlocking function while simplifying the overall hardware arrangement.

A key feature is the double radius design, which allows simpler routing during fabrication and reduces the additional preparation and finishing work associated with producing square-ended profiles. The result is a cleaner finish and a more efficient manufacturing process.

The solution also incorporates an adjustable roller ball latch, enabling accurate alignment during installation and subsequent adjustment throughout the doorset’s service life.

According to both companies, the development reflects an application-led approach to product engineering, bringing together DoorCo’s manufacturing requirements and Winkhaus’s locking hardware expertise.
