Ardagh’s Houston Facility Receives Prestigious ENERGY STAR® Plant Certification
Houston, Texas – Ardagh Glass Packaging–North America (AGP–NA), a leading operating business of Ardagh Group, has been awarded the highly coveted ENERGY STAR® plant certification by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its cutting-edge glassmaking facility in Houston.
Superior Energy Performance and Industry Recognition
The Houston facility stands out with its superior energy performance, ranking among the top 25 percent of similar facilities nationwide in terms of energy efficiency. This esteemed certification is a testament to Ardagh’s commitment to sustainability and adherence to the EPA’s stringent energy efficiency standards. With a production capacity of approximately two million glass containers per day, the Houston facility primarily caters to the thriving U.S. beer market.

With this recent accolade, Ardagh continues to cement its status as an industry frontrunner in energy efficiency. Since 2010, a total of 11 Ardagh facilities have garnered an impressive 51 ENERGY STAR plant and building certifications. AGP–NA proudly remains the sole U.S. glass container manufacturer to achieve this prestigious recognition across multiple facilities over several years. The Houston facility’s exceptional energy performance can be attributed to its highly efficient furnace operation, utilization of recycled glass, and implementation of energy-saving lighting fixtures, among other impactful initiatives.

Continued Recognition for Ardagh
In January 2023, Ardagh’s glass manufacturing facility in Madera, California, also achieved the prestigious ENERGY STAR plant certification, further solidifying Ardagh’s dedication to energy efficiency and environmental stewardship.
