Aluminium Düsseldorf 2024

Aluminium Düsseldorf 2024, the 14th iteration of this prestigious trade fair, promises to be a pivotal event for the global aluminium industry.

Scheduled to take place in Düsseldorf, Germany, the fair is poised to attract 730 exhibitors from 100 countries, reinforcing its status as a significant gathering in the sector. Notably, Turkey will stand out at the event, with a strong representation of 102 participating companies, underscoring the country’s growing influence in the aluminium marketplace.

The event will showcase a diverse range of products and innovations across various categories, including aluminium profiles, semi-finished products, surface and joining technologies, raw materials, recycling solutions, metal processing, welding and cutting technologies, automation machinery, flat products, and various aluminium applications. This comprehensive exhibition serves as a vital platform for industry stakeholders to network, explore new opportunities, and foster collaborations that advance the sector.

One of the key organizations participating in Aluminium Düsseldorf 2024 is the Istanbul Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters’ Association (İDDMİB), a distinguished entity established in 1986. With a robust membership base of 8,000 as of 2023, İDDMİB is committed to promoting and supporting the aluminium sector along with other non-ferrous metals industries, including copper, kitchenware, construction, hardware, casting, and packaging. At the fair, İDDMİB will host a dedicated 30 m² information booth, showcasing its initiatives aimed at increasing exports, diversifying products, and enhancing the global competitiveness of Turkish companies.

The significance of the Turkish aluminium sector cannot be overstated, as it holds a dominant position in the country’s ferrous and non-ferrous metals exports, with a remarkable 38% share. Reaching markets in 203 countries, Turkish aluminium products are well-regarded for their superior quality, competitive pricing, and adherence to international standards recognized by top global retailers. The “Turkish Aluminium” brand has become established and respected through consistent participation in major exhibitions across Europe, Asia, and the USA over the past three decades.

Adding to the traditional trade channels, Turkish companies have also embraced digital innovation through the TurkishAluminium365 platform, which operates year-round. This platform facilitates direct communication between Turkish exporters and global buyers, providing a comprehensive showcase of the aluminium sector’s offerings.

Mr. Çetin Tecdelioğlu, Chairman of the Board of Directors at İDDMİB, spoke enthusiastically about Aluminium Düsseldorf 2024, highlighting its critical importance for the Turkish aluminium sector. “The aluminium industry is integral to our economy, supplying essential semi-finished and finished products across various applications,” he noted. He remarked on the growing global demand for aluminium, spurred by its increasing applications in burgeoning technologies and production models, particularly in the defense, construction, and automotive industries.

In 2023, exports to the top ten countries accounted for an impressive 43% of the sector’s total exports, with the USA, the UK, and EU countries noted as primary markets. However, challenges remain, including rising financing costs and raw material supply issues, which companies must navigate to maintain profitability while competing against local producers in international markets.

The aluminium sector also finds itself at the forefront of the EU’s Green Deal initiatives, which were adopted in 2019. As a pilot sector for this initiative, stakeholders are actively collaborating with specialized working groups on the Border Carbon Regulation Mechanism, ensuring that Turkish companies align their operations with green transformation principles. İDDMİB is committed to providing ongoing training programs and meetings that equip its members to navigate these economic transitions effectively.

As Aluminium Düsseldorf 2024 approaches, it represents not just a trade fair, but a key opportunity for stakeholders in the aluminium industry to engage, innovate, and collectively shape the future of a vital sector. The commitment of organizations like İDDMİB and the strategic participation of Turkish companies will undoubtedly contribute to the event’s success and the long-term growth of the global aluminium market.
