AluFold Windows has outlined the structured supply-only operating model now firmly established at its large-scale manufacturing base in Blackburn, positioning the company to support repeat residential and commercial aluminium projects with greater efficiency and technical consistency.
Located at Whitebirk Industrial Estate near the M65 corridor, the 70,000 sq/ft facility represents a significant operational step forward for the business. The site – one of the most visible manufacturing locations in northwest England – has been designed to accommodate controlled production flow and long-term scalability as demand for aluminium systems continues to grow across the UK market.
Eight months after the acquisition of AluFold Direct by Unique Window Systems in June last year, the business has focused on refining processes and strengthening manufacturing discipline within the new factory environment. According to the company, the move has enabled improvements in operational control while creating a purpose-built setting designed around productivity and repeatability.

Managing director Neal Addison describes the relocation as a defining milestone, explaining that transferring machinery into a facility engineered specifically for aluminium fabrication has allowed the company to optimise production flow and support long-term expansion plans from day one.
Central to AluFold Windows’ strategy is its commitment to operating strictly as a supply-only fabricator. Rather than competing within the installation market, the company positions itself as a technical and manufacturing partner working alongside installers, contractors and trade customers.
The approach aims to simplify aluminium specification by narrowing the product offering to core, repeatable systems. By collaborating early in the specification phase, AluFold Windows says it can reduce project complexity before orders reach the factory floor, helping customers streamline decision-making and minimise risk later in the project lifecycle.
Commercial director Rhodri John emphasises that while aluminium systems can often appear complex due to the range of options available, early technical engagement enables the right solution to be defined from the outset. This structured collaboration model is intended to give installers and contractors greater confidence, supported by specialist expertise behind the scenes.
Backed by Unique Window Systems, AluFold Windows states that its long-term focus lies in disciplined manufacturing, dependable supply, and closer technical partnerships. The Blackburn facility is designed not only to increase production capacity but also to ensure consistency across repeat project types, a critical factor as aluminium continues to gain momentum across residential and commercial sectors.
