Alumini Conference 2026 to Examine the Future of Aluminium and Building Envelopes

The 17th Alumini Conference – “Aluminium & Architecture” will take place from 30 October to 1 November 2026 at Mediterranean Village Hotel & Spa in Katerini, Greece. Under the theme “The Building Envelope of 2050,” the event will bring together aluminium fabricators, architects, façade engineers, manufacturers, construction companies and developers to discuss the technical and market changes shaping the next generation of buildings.

The programme opens on Friday, 30 October, with a session dedicated to AI, Robotics & Engineering. Discussions will examine how artificial intelligence, automation and engineering can improve productivity, support aluminium fabrication and address labour shortages while meeting increasingly demanding architectural requirements. Confirmed speakers include George Manos of Elval Colour and façade engineers Jaime Cavazos and Andreas Tschichlis of Cavazos Façades.

On Saturday, 31 October, the programme will turn to developments in the aluminium industry, including geopolitical changes, emerging markets and new business opportunities. Further sessions will explore how aluminium fabricators must adapt over the next 25 years, covering technology, business development, branding and workforce development.

The building envelope is a central focus of the conference, with growing architectural demands for larger openings, improved energy performance and more advanced aluminium systems. These requirements also have direct implications for glazing specifications, façade engineering and coordination between system suppliers, fabricators and architects.

Running alongside the conference, the fourth Aluminium & Architecture Exhibition and Awards, organised in cooperation with the Hellenic Institute of Architecture, will showcase architectural projects featuring aluminium constructions. The awards aim to promote construction quality and stronger collaboration between architects and aluminium fabricators. Elval Colour is the platinum sponsor, while ETEM and ELVIAL are gold sponsors.

The three-day event will conclude on Sunday, 1 November, with the presentation of the awards and winning projects.
