AGC Inc. Unveils Verified EPDs for Low-Carbon Pyrobel Fire-Resistant Glass

AGC Inc. has announced the availability of third-party verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for its low-carbon Pyrobel fire-resistant glass, alongside EPDs for the standard Pyrobel range. This development marks an important step in reinforcing transparency and sustainability within the construction materials sector.

The announcement follows the introduction of AGC’s next-generation low-carbon Pyrobel, designed to deliver the same trusted fire performance while significantly reducing environmental impact. By lowering Global Warming Potential (GWP), the product responds to growing industry demand for materials that support decarbonization goals without compromising safety or performance.

In total, 16 verified EPDs have been published on the INIES platform. These declarations cover multiple Pyrobel product families, including both standard and low-carbon versions, and apply to stock as well as cut sizes. The availability of this data provides architects, designers, and project stakeholders with reliable metrics to evaluate environmental performance and meet increasingly stringent sustainability requirements.

Low-Carbon Pyrobel demonstrates a notable reduction in CO₂ emissions (Cradle-to-Gate, A1–A3) compared to conventional alternatives, positioning it as a benchmark solution for fire-resistant glazing with optimized embodied carbon values.
