Ardagh Shortlisted for Innovation of the Year at edie Net-Zero Awards

Ardagh Group is proud to announce that its subsidiary, Ardagh Glass Packaging, has been shortlisted for the prestigious “Innovation of the Year: Materials and Processes” category at the 2025 edie Net-Zero Awards.

The nomination recognises the company’s Hydrogen Electrolyser, located at its glass production facility in Limmared, Sweden. This state-of-the-art system enables the on-site generation of hydrogen, offering a low-carbon alternative to traditional energy sources in glass manufacturing. As the glass industry continues to explore sustainable production methods, Ardagh’s hydrogen project stands out as a scalable and impactful solution for reducing emissions.

The electrolyser project forms part of Ardagh’s broader strategy to support decarbonisation and transition toward net-zero operations, aligning with both EU climate goals and industry-wide sustainability commitments.

“We are incredibly honoured to be shortlisted,” said a company spokesperson. “This nomination is a testament to the hard work and vision of our teams across Europe.”

The 2025 edie Net-Zero Awards celebrate pioneering efforts across industries working toward a net-zero future. Winners will be announced later this year.

Ardagh Group extends its thanks to all those involved in the project and looks forward to the awards ceremony with anticipation.
