In a devastating incident, a blast at the South Glass Factory in Shadnagar, India, has resulted in the tragic loss of five lives and left ten others injured.

According to the Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories, Manohar Reddy, the blast took place in the autoclave on the factory premises due to a high-pressure buildup that exceeded the tolerance limit. The safety valve, which is designed to prevent such incidents, failed to function properly, leading to the catastrophic explosion.
The impact of the blast was severe, with the metal door of the autoclave being blown away, along with the glass shards that fell upon the unsuspecting workers. Three of the injured individuals sustained major injuries, while the remaining seven suffered minor injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at a nearby private hospital.
Shadnagar’s Assistant Commissioner of Police further elaborated on the incident, stating that the explosion was reportedly caused by a spike in pressure within the air compressor in the factory. The compressor’s malfunction ultimately led to the shattering of the glass panels throughout the facility.
