UK trade fabricator Emplas has expanded its product portfolio with the launch of a new flush window system designed to meet increasing demand for thermally efficient, heritage-inspired window solutions.

The new flush window is available in double and triple-glazed configurations, supporting 28mm, 36mm and 40mm glazing options. When specified with a 40mm triple-glazed unit, the system achieves an improved U-value of 0.9 W/m²K, helping installers meet the performance requirements associated with the upcoming Future Homes Standard.

Designed with clean external sightlines and a flush finish, the window aims to replicate the appearance of traditional timber joinery while delivering modern energy efficiency. Emplas says the product will provide installers with a competitive solution for premium residential projects, including heritage properties, conservation areas and high-value refurbishment work.

“The new flush window is exclusively available from Emplas and will help installers access higher-value work,” said Martin Millard, Head of Trade Sales at Emplas, highlighting the opportunity for fabricators and installers to differentiate themselves in premium markets.

The launch follows customer insights gathered through Emplas’ retail division, T&K Home Improvements, where demand has grown for flush-finish windows combining traditional aesthetics with improved thermal performance.

Pilkington United Kingdom Limited, part of the NSG Group, has unveiled Texture by Pilkington, a reorganised and refreshed range of patterned glass aimed at addressing the growing demand for privacy, natural light, and decorative solutions in contemporary interiors.

The new range consolidates Pilkington UK’s textured glass offerings into three clearly defined collections: Any Room, Eternal, and Icon. Each collection is designed to cater to different project needs. Any Room provides versatile, modern patterns suitable for most spaces, allowing light diffusion and privacy without compromising open-plan layouts. Eternal focuses on heritage-inspired textures, ideal for retrofits and refurbishments seeking a traditional British interior feel. Icon delivers bold statement designs intended as feature elements in partitions, kitchen glazing, or entrances.

The launch comes in response to feedback from UK merchants, indicating that homeowners increasingly seek contemporary designs for bathrooms, internal screens, and decorative partitions. Collaborating with interior designer Oliver Heath, Pilkington has blended classic textures with modern, biophilic-inspired patterns to meet these evolving aesthetic expectations.

Manufactured at Pilkington’s St Helens site on a newly upgraded, more efficient rolled glass line, the range combines British-made quality and reliability with an updated, design-led presentation. Each pattern carries a privacy rating from 1 to 5 and is available in toughened and laminated options compatible with double and triple glazing units.

To support trade partners, Pilkington UK has introduced updated marketing materials, counter displays, and a redesigned merchant brochure showing patterns alongside their privacy ratings. James Simpson, Marketing Manager at Pilkington UK, emphasised: “Texture glass remains a critical offering for the UK glass trade, but homeowners now expect more choice and a clearer story around design and application. Texture by Pilkington makes it easier for merchants to sell and for homeowners to choose with confidence.”
