ODL Europe has expanded its composite door offering with the launch of a new stable door slab, adding a traditional entrance style to its established Cottage door range while maintaining the performance standards associated with its Capstone composite door construction.

The new stable door has been developed to meet continued homeowner demand for designs that combine heritage aesthetics with practical functionality. The range includes five Cottage door slab designs: Solid, Stanley, Canning, Sandon and Benton, giving fabricators and installers multiple styling options for residential applications.

Available in white as standard, the stable door slabs can also be finished in any RAL colour through ODL Europe’s dedicated in-house paint facility. The company’s specialist paint plant provides greater control over colour accuracy, consistency and finish quality. Doors are coated using a hard-wearing polyurethane paint system and painted units are supplied with a 10-year guarantee covering fade, loss of gloss and adhesion performance.

A key feature of the new stable door is its 100mm integrated PVC mid-rail, which has been specifically designed to deliver the structural strength required for split-opening stable door configurations. The reinforced construction allows the door to maintain rigidity and durability while preserving the traditional appearance expected from this style.

Bryan Bultema, managing director at ODL Europe, said the new product combines the company’s proven ODL Capstone construction technology with a purpose-built stable door design, creating a solution that balances traditional character with modern composite door performance.

Profile 22 windows and PatioMaster doors have played a key role in the transformation of a prominent coastal site on the Isle of Anglesey, helping create a premium residential development that combines panoramic sea views with exceptional weather protection.

The £4.5 million Tai Porth Llechog development, delivered by AH2 Developments, occupies the former site of the Bull Bay Hotel overlooking Bull Bay on Anglesey’s rugged northern coastline. The project has converted a long-derelict location into an exclusive collection of 13 luxury properties, including apartments, detached homes, a dormer bungalow and a mews house.

Given the development’s exposed cliff-top setting, glazing performance was a critical consideration throughout the design and construction process. Main contractor DU Construction Ltd selected Profile 22 and PatioMaster systems manufactured by approved commercial partner Heritage Trade Frames to meet both aesthetic and technical requirements.

The coastal location presented significant environmental challenges, including strong winds, driving rain and continuous exposure to harsh marine conditions. To ensure long-term durability and occupant comfort, the installed products were required to achieve severe weather performance ratings in accordance with BS6375 standards. This included air permeability and water tightness ratings of 600Pa, together with wind resistance performance of up to 2400Pa.

A total of 80 Profile 22 Flush Casement windows and seven Profile 22 French doors were manufactured for the project, alongside several PatioMaster sliding door configurations and composite entrance doors. The flush casement design was chosen for its ability to replicate the appearance of traditional timber frames while delivering the thermal efficiency, low-maintenance benefits and weather resistance associated with modern PVC-U systems.

Finished in anthracite grey externally and white internally, the glazing package complements the development’s contemporary coastal architecture while maximising uninterrupted views of the Irish Sea.

Mahon Windows had previously invested in an Emmegi Phantomatic M3 and a Someco 4TVH in-line welder, both supplied and commissioned by Emmegi’s specialist Irish sales and engineering team. Following the performance of those systems, the company selected the Someco SBZ SM11 CNC sawing and machining centre to support increasing production demands and future expansion plans.

Located in Athlone, Mahon Windows operates across both trade and commercial sectors, with a focus on precision fabrication and consistent production quality. According to James O’Connell, Emmegi’s Sales Manager for Ireland, the SBZ SM11 was identified as the ideal solution due to its advanced automation features and compatibility with Mahon’s existing Someco welding systems.

The SBZ SM11 is a 13-axis CNC machining centre designed for milling, cutting, and welding preparation of PVC profiles. The system incorporates a through-feed bar design for continuous high-speed processing, profile verification technology, and eleven electrospindles capable of machining all sides of the profile. It also features an integrated contouring module optimised for Seamless® welding preparation.

The machine was linked to Forterro’s Evolution manufacturing software, enabling Industry 4.0-ready production tracking and remote diagnostics functionality.

Climatec Group and AluK have reaffirmed their long-term partnership, highlighting more than a decade of collaboration across aluminium fabrication and systems development. The relationship was recognised with an “Approved Fabricator” award presented to Climatec’s aluminium division, Alu-tec, in acknowledgment of its consistent manufacturing quality and commitment to innovation.

AluK’s Head of Trade and Residential Sales, Paul Greenaway, praised Alu-tec as one of the company’s most trusted fabrication partners, noting the strength and stability of the relationship over many years. He emphasised the importance of reliable fabricators in supporting AluK’s wider trade and residential market presence.

Phil Bates, Director and Co-founder of Climatec Group, said the partnership has existed since Alu-tec was founded in 2012. He explained that the company has never needed to dual source, thanks to the breadth and reliability of AluK’s product range, which supports its trade, retail, and commercial operations.

He also highlighted close collaboration on product development, industry events such as the FIT Show, and ongoing technical, marketing, and commercial support. This cooperation allows both companies to align product launches and market activity while maintaining operational independence.

Alu-tec continues to expand its offering, including sliders, heritage doors, and bi-fold systems, while maintaining a focus on “right first time” quality and bespoke fabrication capability.

Climatec Group fabricates around 1,500 frames per week across PVC-U and aluminium systems and employs over 200 staff, supplying trade and commercial customers across the UK South East region.

Schüco International KG and Jansen AG have officially renewed and expanded their long-standing strategic partnership, confirming the continued success of a collaboration that has shaped the European aluminium and steel systems market for decades. The extension was announced during the Swissbau trade fair on 22 January 2026 and reinforces the companies’ shared commitment to high-performance building envelope solutions.

Jansen AG, headquartered in Oberriet, Switzerland, is an internationally active company with more than 100 years of experience in developing steel profile systems for windows, doors, fire protection and façades. Alongside its steel expertise, Jansen also provides plastic solutions and high-quality powder coating services. Schüco International KG, based in Bielefeld, Germany, celebrates its 75th anniversary and is known worldwide for aluminium, steel and PVC-U system solutions focused on quality, sustainability and lifecycle performance.

Under the renewed agreements, Jansen will continue to distribute Schüco aluminium systems exclusively in Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein. At the same time, Schüco retains exclusive distribution rights for Jansen steel systems in key European markets including Germany, Luxembourg, the UK, Ireland, Scandinavia, Finland, the Baltic States and Greece. The cooperation reflects a partnership that began in aluminium in 1978 and expanded into steel distribution in 2000, proving the strength of a long-standing sales model.

A new addition strengthens the collaboration further: since 1 January 2026, Schüco International S.C.S. in France has begun distributing a significant portion of steel systems from the former RP Technik Profilsysteme GmbH in France and the French overseas territories under the RP Technik name.

Leadership from both companies emphasised shared values, innovation and customer focus as key drivers behind the renewal. In a market facing increasing change and sustainability demands, the extended partnership highlights stability, technical expertise and a joint commitment to delivering advanced steel and aluminium solutions for modern architecture.

Epwin Window Systems has achieved ISO 50001:2018 certification, reinforcing its long-term commitment to structured energy management and measurable environmental performance across its UK operations.

ISO 50001:2018 is an internationally recognised standard that establishes a formal energy management system (EnMS), enabling organisations to systematically monitor, manage and improve energy performance. The certification requires clear energy policies, defined performance indicators, data-driven monitoring, and continuous improvement processes covering energy consumption, efficiency and reduction targets.

According to Tom Langford, QHSE Manager at Epwin Window Systems, the certification reflects the company’s determination to continually enhance how energy is managed throughout the business and reduce environmental impact in a measurable way.

The ISO 50001 accreditation complements a comprehensive portfolio of environmental certifications already held by the company:

ISO 14001 – Environmental Management Systems

BES 6001: Issue 3.0 – Responsible sourcing of constituent materials

ISO 14064-1:2018 – Verified greenhouse gas emissions measurement and reporting

VinylPlus Product Label – Recognition for sustainable PVC-U systems

Epwin Window Systems was notably the first UK systems company to achieve the VinylPlus Product Label, demonstrating compliance with demanding European sustainability criteria for PVC-U products.

Sustainability at Epwin extends beyond certification. The company operates a zero-to-landfill policy, with on-site waste segregation and recycling managed by registered carriers. Production offcuts are reprocessed into recycled composite material for use in thermal inserts.

In addition, post-consumer PVC-U windows and doors are recycled at its UK facility. End-of-life frames are converted into high-quality recycled compound and reintegrated into new products, supporting a fully closed-loop model.

A sensitive Grade II listed farmhouse renovation in Leicestershire has been successfully completed with the installation of Residence 9 windows from The Residence Collection, delivering a refined balance between heritage authenticity and modern performance. The rural property, formerly part of Osbaston House Farm, is located within the Osbaston Conservation Area and has been transformed into a spacious five-bedroom detached residence.

The wider project involved the conversion of a cluster of historic barns into a single dwelling of over 5,500 sq ft, led by Lychgate Bespoke in collaboration with HSSP Architects. Window installation was delivered by Swadlincote Windows, using a total of 38 Residence 9 windows alongside two bespoke shaped units.

Finished in the traditional Clotted Cream colourway internally and externally, the windows were selected for their authentic timber appearance and their ability to meet strict conservation requirements. Residence 9 has gained consistent approval for use in conservation areas and listed buildings across the UK, making it a preferred solution where planning sensitivity is critical.

Technically, the system features fully mechanical jointing to replicate traditional timber joinery, while benefiting from modern PVCu durability and low maintenance. Glazing specifications included laminated units and Planitherm glass, enhancing thermal performance, comfort and security. Satin chrome pear drop hardware completed the heritage aesthetic.

Pioneer Trading Company has taken a significant step forward in PVC-U cill fabrication with the installation of the Graf SLS single-head CNC cill welder, supplied by Haffner Ltd, at its Essex manufacturing facility. The investment reflects Pioneer’s long-term strategy to improve product quality, efficiency, and consistency in an area of fabrication that has seen limited innovation for decades.

The Graf SLS is currently the only single-head CNC welder engineered specifically for seamless bay cill production. Unlike traditional methods, the machine delivers a perfectly seamless weld with fully automated sprue removal, eliminating the need for post-weld cleaning or manual finishing. This not only enhances surface aesthetics but also significantly reduces production time and labour dependency.

Designed for single-operator use, the Graf SLS improves throughput while maintaining high precision. Automatic profile measurement and continuous recalibration ensure tight tolerances, improved repeatability, and reduced material waste, key factors for fabricators facing rising costs and skills shortages.

Danny Williams, Managing Director of Pioneer Trading Company, described the machine as a “game-changer” for PVC-U cill production, highlighting both the finish quality and the de-skilling benefits it brings to the workshop. His decision was reinforced after seeing the Graf SLS operating live at FIT Show 2025, where the machine’s capabilities became immediately clear.

From the supplier perspective, Bryan Dando, Commercial Director at Haffner Ltd, noted that Pioneer’s investment demonstrates a clear commitment to manufacturing excellence. With the Graf SLS now fully operational, Pioneer reports strong customer feedback and a noticeable uplift in perceived product quality, positioning the company at the forefront of modern cill fabrication in the UK.
