ENEC’s CEO Mohamed Al Hammadi noted the landmark underscores nuclear energy’s dual benefits, boosting energy security while decarbonizing heavy industries like aluminium production with reliable 24/7 clean power.

Barakah now delivers about 40 TWh of carbon-free electricity annually, roughly a quarter of the UAE’s electricity needs, helping avoid approximately 22.4 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year, equal to taking 4.8 million cars off the road.

MinimAL joins EGA’s existing green aluminium portfolio, which includes solar-powered CelestiAL and recycled RevivAL, as the company continues to expand its low-carbon materials offerings to meet global sustainability demands.
