<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Pushing the Limits of Sustainable Manufacturing</strong><br>Vetropack Straža, a major player in the glass packaging industry and part of the wider Vetropack Group, has successfully completed its third solar power plant installation in Hum na Sutli, Croatia. This new system, completed one month ahead of schedule, represents a significant step in Vetropack’s shift toward low-emission, energy-efficient glass production. Operational since late May, the Vetropack Straža III plant is now feeding clean energy directly into the production of glass bottles and jars, as well as powering administrative operations.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Energy Efficiency in the Built Environment</strong><br>The solar installation generates an impressive 1,899.5 MWh annually and is expected to reduce carbon emissions by over 300 tonnes per year. By covering every viable roof surface of the facility, including the compressor station, batch plant, and finished goods warehouse, with 4,438 solar panels and 25 inverters, Vetropack has maximized its on-site energy production capacity. This project highlights the increasing integration of renewable energy within industrial architecture, making factory infrastructure a key player in energy transformation.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Strategic Investment and Climate Goals</strong><br>Funded through Croatia’s Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund and supported by the EU’s Modernisation Fund, the EUR 1.36 million project aligns with Vetropack’s Strategy 2030, aiming to cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions by over 50% by 2032. The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) officially validated these goals in 2024, solidifying the company’s role in climate-responsible manufacturing.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Leadership in the Green Building Transition</strong><br>With solar integration beginning in 2019 and continued involvement in virtual power plant initiatives since 2023, Vetropack Straža is setting new benchmarks for energy resilience in the glass industry. As Managing Director Darko Šlogar stated, “Every new project confirms our commitment to sustainability and operational excellence.”</p>
