										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>In a significant move aimed at enhancing its production capabilities, the independent and family-run Cornwall Group has placed a substantial order for new Glaston FC Series E tempering lines.</strong></p>
<p>This development, announced in August 2024, marks a pivotal milestone in the company’s evolution, underscoring its commitment to quality and innovation in glass manufacturing.</p>
<p>Established over 45 years ago, Cornwall Group has grown to employ approximately 370 colleagues across 14 sites. With the forthcoming delivery of these tempering lines scheduled for 2025, the company is poised to bolster its manufacturing processes significantly. The order has already been recorded in Glaston’s Q3 2024 order book, indicating a strong and strategic partnership between the two companies.</p>
<p>The new tempering lines will be deployed at three of Cornwall Group&#8217;s manufacturing sites: Mackenzie Glass in Bristol, Cornwall Glass Manufacturing in St Austell, and Forward Glass in Birmingham. These state-of-the-art furnaces will primarily be utilized to manufacture glass for diverse applications, including residential windows, interior design, and commercial architectural projects.</p>
<p>One of the standout features of the Glaston FC Series E is its integration of the Glaston Autopilot technology. This advanced automation system allows operators to simply input the thickness and type of glass, after which the Autopilot automatically adjusts processing parameters to ensure optimal results consistently. This high level of automation not only streamlines operations but also enhances production reliability and quality.</p>
<p>Moreover, Cornwall Group will benefit from Glaston’s efficient convection technology, known as Glaston Bora. This sophisticated circulated-air convection system guarantees precise heating during the tempering process, ensuring consistent glass quality across all high-end products. Alongside these advantages, the adaptive process optimization technology incorporated into these lines significantly reduces energy consumption, a crucial factor in today’s environmentally-conscious industry landscape.</p>
<p>Sami Kelin, Sales &amp; Service Director at Glaston UK, highlighted the dual benefits of automation and energy efficiency: “In addition to automation capabilities, Cornwall Group will be able to gain significant savings on energy consumption as Glaston’s adaptive process optimization technology cuts energy consumption to very low levels.”</p>
<p>Mark Mitchell, a representative from Cornwall Group, expressed the significance of this investment, stating, “This is the largest single supplier purchase of plant and machinery in our company’s long history and one which will cement our position as one of the UK’s most reliable and established glass distributor, specialist processor, and IGU manufacturer. We selected Glaston in part because of the tempering line’s advanced Autopilot automation technology, which will help us with our production quality and reliability.”</p>
<p>As Cornwall Group prepares for this expansion, the partnership with Glaston is expected to reinforce its reputation in the glass manufacturing sector, enhancing production capabilities while fostering sustainability through lower energy consumption. This strategic investment positions Cornwall Group to meet the evolving demands of the market, further solidifying its place as a leader in the industry.</p>
